NEW LOCATION : Shop 5, 48 - 52 Lincoln Causeway, Wodonga VIC (note - NOT postal address)

JAZZ Albury Wodonga is located in the old Cheese Factory on Gateway Island, Lincoln Causeway and presents national and international artists at the new venue and is working to increase its role in music education in the area. The previous dedicated jazz venue ‘the JAZZ basement’ was located at the rear of Elgin’s Hotel Complex, Wodonga in the old Irene House building. It successfully hosted local, national and international jazz artists there from April 2004 to September 2009.

When the opportunity arose for JAZZ Albury Wodonga to move to the new space on Gateway Island, an association developed with LIVID Productions and an agreement made to share the space with them. LIVID will present theatre productions at the venue and also increase their role in education through workshops and master classes. The new JAZZ basement provides a rehearsal space for both non-profit organizations. LIVID Productions have produced highly successful shows in recent times including Godspell, Nunsense, Pinkalicious, award winning Jesus Christ Super Star and Little Shop of Horrors, which they have received 8 award nominations for.. They are currently in rehearsal stage of 'Spamalot' which opens at the end of March 2011

JAZZ Albury Wodonga has hosted many great national and international performances at the JAZZ basement, 69 in total at the old Elgin’s venue. These have included several prominent jazz artists from the United States and Europe as well as many of Australia’s finest jazz musicians. It has become a ‘must play’ Australian jazz venue. The first show at the new venue was October 23rd 2009 and featured the Tom Vincent Quartet from Tasmania. As a result of a lot of very hard work by some dedicated volunteers, the JAZZ basement provides our arts community with a great performance space and enables both JAZZ Albury Wodonga and LIVID productions to develop music and performing arts.
